Join WHN’s Infection Prevention Team

Recently, the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been meeting as part of a process to update infection control guidance for health care settings.

Our friends at NNU report that “Based on updates provided at HICPAC meetings over the past year in addition to other presentations from CDC staff regarding the guidance updates, there are concerns that the CDC may be headed in the wrong direction on multiple fronts, including failing to fully recognize aerosol transmission, incorporating crisis standards into infection control guidance, and downgrading personal protective equipment for health care workers.”

WHN’s Infection Prevention team will bring attention to this critical decision, and push the CDC to fully recognize aerosol transmission of Covid in healthcare settings.

As a member of this team, you will help us get the word out about the need for proper infection control in healthcare settings via promoting social posts, helping draft talking points and press releases, finding relevant research, and coming up with your own ideas about how to push back on this disastrous policy.
