Each profile shows two things: where the rule stands legally, and whether anything is actually happening.
Rule where it stands legally
- Proposed
- A bill, draft rule or consultation. Not decided yet.
- Adopted
- Passed or published, but not yet applying.
- In force
- Legally applies now.
- Guidance
- Official advice or a voluntary standard. Not binding.
- No binding rule
- A programme, grant, plan or pledge without a legal requirement.
In practice what is actually happening
- Running
- We found evidence it is happening: equipment installed, money paid, orders applied.
- Partly
- Some of it is happening, or only in some places.
- Not yet
- Nothing is happening yet.
- Ended
- It happened but has stopped.
- Unknown
- We have not found evidence either way. Know more? Tell us.
