What to Do When Your ADA Request is Denied in Healthcare
(with thanks to the Vermont Center for Independent Living)
File Civil Rights Complaints:
If your request is denied, file a complaint! Filing complaints with appropriate federal and state agencies are important tools in fighting discrimination. This is a key aspect to how we maintain protections! It is a needed check and balance to our system of civil rights. You can file complaints with:
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights
- ADA Complaints with the U.S. Department of Justice
- List of Civil Rights Offices by Federal Agency
- State Civil Rights Agencies
