November 2023 – Letter to HICPAC Members

We want healthcare to be safe for both healthcare workers and patients. The Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) is the body that advises the CDC on infection control in healthcare. HICPAC is currently discussing drafts on infection control policies. Here is our letter to tell HICPAC not to weaken protections.

To CDC Director Mandy Cohen and HICPAC members:

The HICPAC draft guidelines for infection control in healthcare do not adequately protect healthcare workers and patients. [1,2,3,4,5]
The process of developing adequate guidelines must include healthcare worker organizations and patient representatives.
