Joseph Lee Eastman is a highly accomplished research scientist with over 30 years of expertise in numerical modeling, climate research, renewable energy, and atmospheric sciences. He has made significant contributions to the development of advanced predictive models, including work on NASA’s award-winning Land Information System. Throughout his career, Joseph has combined atmospheric, ecological, and land-surface modeling to advance climate and renewable energy research, optimizing wind and solar energy production for large-scale applications.
An experienced educator and mentor, he has guided students from elementary through graduate levels and authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from regional climate modeling to land-use impacts on weather. In retirement, he continues his commitment to scientific communication and innovation, developing tools like the Multiple Algorithm Pandemic Software (MAPS) and sharing insights through his public science newsletter.
