Dr Khan has a subspecialty interest in Sleep Medicine and Long-Term Ventilation. His other interests are medical education, junior doctor wellbeing, civility in the workplace, and violations of the right to access healthcare in conflict zones.
Prior to developing Long Covid from an infection contracted on the frontline in Nov 2020 he enjoyed cycling, swimming, and travel. He suffers with post-COVID thrombotic vasculitis, urticaria, POTS, pericarditis, fatigue, and cognitive impairment. Despite his position, he has experienced disbelief and gaslighting by other members of the medical profession.Currently, he spends his time raising awareness of the condition and advocating for sufferers. He is an advocate of biomedical research and treatment for Long COVID and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications on Long COVID.
