Becky Ancira Robertson
Expert’s bio
Becky Ancira Robertson is a resilient founding member of MaskTogetherAmerica, whose advocacy is shaped by her personal journey with Long COVID since June 2020. While recovering from spinal surgery after a car accident, Becky was exposed to COVID-19 during a mandatory cognitive therapy session—at a time when much of the nation was still in lockdown. Her surgical mask offered little protection against the airborne virus, leaving her with multiple chronic conditions including organ damage, diabetes, and Lupus.
From that experience, Becky turned pain into purpose. As a steadfast advocate for public health and Long COVID awareness, she has championed high-quality masking, clean air, and proactive mitigation as acts of both compassion and responsibility. Partnering with founder Julie Lam, she volunteered as a producer at MaskTogetherAmerica, creating social media PSAs during the pandemic to educate and encourage community protection when it mattered most.
Becky’s dedication reaches far beyond personal advocacy. As a member of The World Health Network and co-host of nightly X (formerly Twitter) Spaces with Dr. Joe Eastman, she helps create a virtual refuge for the Long COVID community—a space where science, solidarity, and hope meet. She is also a proud member of the International Long COVID Awareness Group, which established March 15 as International Long COVID Awareness Day.
This year, Becky will mark the occasion by hosting a 24-hour marathon Space on X, running from 12 p.m. March 15 to 12 p.m. March 16, featuring advocates, scientists, and celebrities who stand united in the call for prevention, treatment and a cure.
Becky’s masked portrait has become more than an image—it’s a symbol of her resilience, love for community, and unwavering belief that awareness transforms into action when hearts and voices rise together.

Our stories are our weapons. By sharing our experiences with Long Covid, we’re not just pleading; we’re demanding action.
Every voice matters. Together, we can force the world to see us, to hear us, and to act.
We have suffered. We’ve watched our friends suffer. Our deteriorating health, the constant battle for survival – it’s a tragedy that can’t continue. This is not our future. We deserve better. Our children deserve better.
It’s time for change. We need immediate treatments, research, & support. Let’s unite, advocate, and demand the future we deserve. Long Covid doesn’t have to be a death sentence.
With hope, determination, & collective action, we can overcome this challenge and build a healthier world for all.
