Anna Brooks, PhD is a Senior Lecturer, cellular immunologist, and Director of Auckland Cytometry at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. With a broad background in human immunology, she specializes in advanced cell characterization techniques. Her research is focused around unravelling the underlying immune dysfunction associated with Long Covid, particularly its relationship with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Dr Brooks serves on the (NZ) National Advisory on ME/CFS (ANZMES) and co-founded a patient-centred research group. Beyond the lab, she is a passionate patient advocate and science communicator. She regularly engages in public outreach, delivering lectures, participating in practitioner training, professional development, and media interviews to promote scientific literacy and awareness.
