Airborne Transmission Mitigation Global Convening (May 21/22, 9am-4pm EDT)

This is an invitation-only event.
What are we trying to accomplish? Major transitions in science can take time. Think of the amount of time it took for handwashing to become an essential component of infection prevention and control, or the germ theory to fully be accepted by science. Airborne transmission of respiratory viruses has had a similar delay, coming to forefront of science during the SARS-1 epidemic, but still not being generally accepted by institutions in 2025.
Our aim is to understand the barriers to the acceptance, and to accelerate its use into the science of infection control for the public and institutions. We will do this through two days of small group discussions, with a hope to have a formal plan for moving forward at the end of the two day period.
What we are not is a conference, of experts talking at people. We want everyone to engage in discussion. You are all experts in your fields, and this multidisciplinary approach will be emphasized throughout the event. We want people to challenge orthodoxy. Be prepared to come with ideas, enthusiasm, and optimism.
