Endorse the WHN HICPAC Letter

Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) is the body that advises the CDC on infection control in healthcare. HICPAC is currently discussing drafts on infection control policies. Don’t let HICPAC weaken protections. Sign the brief letter below for safety in healthcare for both healthcare workers and patients. [NOTE: Due to postponement of the HICPAC guidelines vote, the deadline for signatures on this letter was extended until October 13, 2023. If you previously signed this letter, you do not need to sign again. If you sign again, this won’t be a problem as duplicate signatures will be removed.]

To CDC Director Mandy Cohen and HICPAC members:

The HICPAC draft guidelines for infection control in healthcare do not adequately protect healthcare workers and patients. [1,2,3,4,5]
The process of developing adequate guidelines must include healthcare worker organizations and patient representatives.
