Announcing a New Resource for Streamlining the Process of Submitting Content for Publication by WHN: The Content Finishing Team
One of the great things about WHN is the wide-ranging expertise of our members. We think it’s important to showcase our members’ work, so in order to expand our capabilities to do this, as well as the resources we provide to the public, we are implementing a new supportive, “pre-submission,” process for content creation and editing.
If you have authored a document or created other content with important information about COVID-19 that you are interested in having featured on the WHN website, the new Content Finishing Team is here as a resource for editing prior to submitting that content for final review. Our goal is to assist with getting your content “publication-ready,” meaning it is complete, free of typos, contains accurate information from trusted sources, and is aligned with WHN principles.
If you have unfinished content or are still in the “ideas” or “planning” stage of your project, the Content Finishing Team is also here to assist with finishing documents, finding co-authors/creators, and to help individual authors/creators and teams from planning to “publication-ready.”
Submitting content/ideas to the Content Finishing Team will primarily operate through our new Slack channel #science-content-team-contentdrop, but you can also reach out to Heather Sue Rosen with questions, and she will accept direct submissions via email and Google Drive if you are unable to submit through Slack.
About the WHN Content Finishing Team
The WHN Content Finishing Team is a branch of the Science Content Team created to work with WHN members who are interested in submitting documents for publication on the WHN website. The Content Finishing Team’s primary goal is to assist WHN members with preparing content for review. They are available to collaborate with authors/creators to edit and/or complete science content that is “publication ready” and aligned with WHN’s principles.
“I want to publish content on the WHN website—how can the Content Finishing Team help?”
For members with complete content, the Content Finishing Team provides editorial feedback so that content submitted for publication has already gone through several rounds of editing prior to the final review.
For members with unfinished content, the Content Finishing Team are available as consultants to provide and assist with implementing ideas while also providing editorial feedback so that content submitted for publication has already gone through several rounds of editing prior to the final review.
For members with ideas who have not begun the content creation process, the Content Finishing Team provides networking and consulting services to facilitate the content creation process from idea through submission for final review. They are available to help connect members with co-authors/co-creators, and they provide one-on-one consulting services for individual members and teams still in the planning stage of content creation to build a plan and bring it to fruition.
