Legal Resources for Vulnerable Individuals
In the US, those who are at risk for serious outcomes from COVID-19 infection or who have family members at risk for serious outcomes from COVID-19, and those who have conditions that may be adversely affected by COVID-19 infection, may be able to claim protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Hospitals, schools and workplaces have a legal duty to accommodate those with disabilities. If the right to fully participate in all aspects of society is limited, there are legal steps you can take to ensure accommodations are made.
There are legal resources that can be consulted with about individual circumstance. Each state has its own Disability Law Center. Below is a list of statewide disability law resources.
